Installation Types on Different Network Configurations
PANTHEON can be installed on different configurations. The main two configuration types are: local database (for a single user) and networked database (for multiple users). A networked database can be implemented in two ways.
In small networks (up to 5 users), the most powerful (and least used) computer in the network can be used as the database server, thus eliminating the need for a costly dedicated server and related software.
In larger networks (more than 5 users), it is recommended to use a dedicated server which is not used to work with PANTHEON.

Local Database

When using a local database (for a single user), the database server is installed on the same computer as PANTHEON. Select Complete Setup.

Networked Database with a Listen Server (non-dedicated server)

Small networks (up to five users) can use the most powerful computer in the network as a listen server. This computer will have the database server and PANTHEON installed.
Other computers require only a PANTHEON client, as the database is accessible over the network.

Networked Database with a Dedicated Server

For large and/or advanced networks (more than five users), it is recommended to use a dedicated server for the database. The server hosts the database, while the computers need only the PANTHEON client. |
