Copy

When several animals have a lot of the same data (e.g. a litter of puppies: information about parents, date of birth, date of registration, species, breed, etc.), we can enter the first animal, and for the others, use the copy data functionality and correct only the data that is different. This speeds up the entry and reduces the possibility of errors during entry.
In this chapter, we will present an example of copying data when creating a code for a puppy. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinarian | Registers | Owners and animals.
 |
CASE SUMMARY
The owner, Jasna Jerebica, brings a litter of puppies to the veterinary clinic. The veterinarian chips them and enters the data into the PANTHEON VET program. The procedure is described below.
|
-
The person responsible at the veterinary clinic enters the data for the first puppy. The detailed procedure is described in the chapter Dog entry.
-
To enter the code of the next puppy, the person responsible clicks the Copy button.

- The program returns the information: 'Do you want to copy the animal?'

- The person responsible clicks the Confirm button. The program creates a new record for the animal, copies the data, and adds an additional character '?' to the fields where mandatory correction is required.

 |
WARNING
The program adds an additional character '?' to data where duplication is not allowed. This happens in the fields: Animal ID and Passport No. (o).
|
-
The person responsible corrects the data. In the Animal ID field, the person responsible enters the correct code. In our example: 705035040666256.
-
In the Animal Name field, the person responsible enters: Pipi.
-
In the Sex field, the person responsible from the drop-down list selects: 2-Female
-
In the Passport No. (o) field, the person responsible enters: SI02651245558.
-
The person responsible saves the corrections by clicking the Save button.

- The program returns the information: 'Do you want to change the animal data?'
- The person responsible clicks the Confirm button
