Grassland Cycles

Before you start to enter data for grassland production, you have to open a production cycle. For permanent grasslands a production cycle refers to one product though one year.

With cycle opening you have to determine planned quantity of product. This is more a guidance as final product can be bigger or smaller. But when you have at harvest reached or exceeded planned value, program will automatically offer you a closure of cycle. It is always possible to add more product to cycle, but you have to manually open and afterwards close the cycle.

Production Cycle for Grassland

Product

From drop-down menu you choose product, that you are producing. Product must be entered into Items, where you have to set Item Type to 902. By double click, you can access Items.

In case of FADN reports you have to set Item Type to:

  • 9CG (Hay for arable land, one-year mix),
  • 9CH (Hay from arable land, multi-year mix),
  • 9CI (Grass silage from arable land, one-year-mix),
  • 9CJ (Grass silage from arable land, multi-year mix).
Cycle Cycle ID is set automatically according to Product name and year of entry. Field is editable so you can change it. By double click, you can access Cost Centers window.
Description Description is set automatically. Field is editable so you can change it.
Plann. Qty. Quantity that you plan to produce in this cycle. You have to acknowledge all subdivisions that are dedicated in this cycle.
U/M Unit of product. As the unit is preset in Items it is set automatically.
Date Entered Date of cycle entry. It is set automatically, but you can change it.
Start Date Date of planned start of work (usually first tasks on cycle).
Planned End Date of planned end of work (harvest or last tasks on cycle).
End Date Date of automatic cycle closing. In case of permanent grasslands End date is not obligatory. It is set for the purpose of the same concept in Field crop production. If you want the cycle ends you should enter OK; in case of entering Cancel the cycle stays opened.
Status

Status of individual work order. There are more possibilities:

  • Open: means that cycle is entered, but there are no tasks on this cycle.
  • In progress: means that cycle is entered and also some tasks, but product has not been harvested in planned quantity.
  • Finished: means that product has been harvested in same or higher amount than planned and we cannot enter any tasks on such cycle. If you want to do some entries, you have to first. If you want to do some entries, you have to first manually open cycle in Production Cycles window. The finished cycles are colored in red colour.

Subdivisions (planned)

Once you have entered Production Cycle, you can appoint subdivisions. Subdivisions are specified in Settings | Agricultural Holding | Parcel.

000001.gif Subdivision must be appointed regarding if you do not divide your parcel into subdivisions. In that case you enter subdivision with 100% share.

Entry of subdivisions is obligatory, because in later stages you will be able to choose subdivisions in Daily Tasks and make financial calculations.
