Creating work orders from the forward plan

Creating a DN from a schedule is the last level of the planning process and the start of the process of manufacturing products and semi-finished products. The possibility to create a DN from a term plan allows us to quickly transfer the data we have defined in the planning process to work orders.

In the example below we will illustrate the creation and review of work orders from the scheduling in PANTEHON.

CASE SUMMARY

Peter The manufacturer wants to transfer the selected positions to work orders after the planning process and thus start the process of manufacturing the ordered products. He will select all the positions from the plan, define the document type 6000 – Production and create the work orders. After creation, the status of the work orders just created will be checked using the review tool. This is done by the following procedure:

  1. Opening a schedule
  2. Opening the window for creating a DN from the forward plan
  3. Selecting positions for transfer with criteria
  4. Create WO from Schedule
  5. Work order overview

1. Opening a schedule

To open a forward plan, the person responsible first selects Production | Plans and document type HP10 - Monthly Plan – Orders to open the monthly production plans form. Selecting the button (search after) in the message bar opens the search engine. It selects the plan 22-HP10-000002 Plan June 2022 that we created in the Creating a plan example.

To open a timetable, select (Wizard) from the selected monthly timetable and select Timetable from the drop-down list.

Opens the already created Term plan HP10-000002.

2. Opening the window for creating a DN from the forward plan

To open the Create DN from the Roadmap window, the responsible person selects (Wizard) and from the Create DN drop-down list.

When the window opens, the positions of the semi-finished and finished products from the Term Plan are automatically transferred to the Creating DN from the Forward Plan section below.

3. Selection of transfer positions with criteria

Positions transferred to the Create DN from the forward plan window can be further filtered by selecting criteria in the form before creating the plan.

In the Criteria section, the responsible person shall select the Create DN for uncreated only toggle to ensure that he/she only creates DNs for positions that have not yet been advertised in the Job Order.

It does not choose any other criteria because it wants to create a DN for all positions in the plan.

In the Creation mode section, select Document type 6000 – Production to specify which document types will be used to create the work orders.

DN Date is the default creation date and can be changed at will.

Tick the Tool Transfer, Regulation Transfer, Manual Tool Transfer and Burn/Waste switches to transfer this information to work tasks.

In the Identity type section, select the identity type of the positions you want to be transferred to the work tasks. Selecting all ensures that all positions in the plan are transferred.

Once all criteria have been selected, selecting the Refresh Data button refreshes the selection based on the selected criteria.

HINT

For more information on the criteria for selecting positions in the Create a DN from the timetable tool, please HERE.

4. Create WO from Schedule

By selecting the toggle switches next to each position, the responsible person determines the positions to be transferred to the DN. When satisfied with the selection, the person shall create the work tasks by selecting the Create button and confirming it in the Confirm window.

The Creating DNs from TMP window opens, displaying information about the created work orders.

5. Work order overview

Created work tasks from the Term plan can be monitored by the responsible person by selecting (Wizard) and View DN.View DN.

Opens the Term plan: 22-HP10-000002 – DN overview window, where you can see the work order data generated from the TMP positions.

In this window, the user can monitor the status or quantity of the positions that have already been created. Select the Update data button to update the data in the window.

Warning

Work items created from the forward plan have the status Planned when they are created. When recalculating the forward plan, linked DNs that are not in the Scheduled status or higher are automatically deleted.
