Split by Distribution Key

Distribution using the distribution key.

It splits (i.e. distributes) the journal entry line by individual departments according to the previously created distribution key. Function can be called by using wizard or with functional key Ctrl+D on desired position.

We use split by distribution key function to divide postings on more positions regarding set rules (different department, cost centers or accounts).

Example: we received an invoice for renting business premises from the supplier. Then post the invoice and split the costs by departments. Let us say between Department 1 and Department 2 in the 40:60 ratio. Enter the distribution key in the Distribution Keys register.

To distribute a line you have to select it. Proceed by selecting Split by Distribution Key in the wizards menu.

Distribution keys can also be added as and when allocating costs by sharing key. This is done in order to put on a position that we want to divide and wizard open distribute according to distr.key (Ctrl + D). In the window that opens, enter the desired distribution key and in field ID enter new ID and under also name of it.Then new button appear Save Kea to Register . We must save distribution key, if we want to use it for distribution of positions.

On the bottom of the form there are three options:

By default, this option are unmarked, but when a user sets Pantheon remembers the settings when opening / closing the panel.

If the user turns on the first or second option, the program for the distribution of posts in the divided positions enters the department and / or cost center, if one has been entered on the original position in the distribution key is not defined.

In the third option switched on switch Replace with Accounts from Distr. Key, if entered, program the current account position replaced by accounts of the distribution key.

In the journal is positioned on a position or several positions (hold down the CTRL key and select positions) that we want to divide by distribution key. From the wizard option select Split by distribution key.

Select a distribution key and confirm it by clicking OK. The line is distributed according to the criteria entered.
