Standard Occupational Classification is used for sorting work that is in generally performs one person. Occupation is statistic-analytic unit, in which classifies works that are similar in content and complexity. In the standard occupational classification, the occupations at the highest classification lever are classified into ten main groups.

Within these, they are hierarchically classified into sub-groups, sectoral groups and units of sectoral groups.

Every occupation in standard occupational classification is equipped with description and code.
