Graphical Interface for the Table Overview
General
The module is meant for graphical arrangement of restaurants, bars and other catering premises. The user can set up several rooms. Each room separately can be filled with partition walls, bars and tables. There is a variety of tables to choose from: rectangular, oval, round, with and without chairs.
You can get to the editor by clicking the newPOS ROOM icon. Two buttons appear on the lower bottom: CLOSE and OPEN.
Table Overview Editing
OPEN – a window appears with a list of the already entered SPACES and ADD, CHANGE, CLEAR and OK buttons.
- Room ID – by using an external or on-screen keyboard (KEY) in the lower left, enter an abbreviated tag of the new room.
- Room name – by using an external or on-screen keyboard (KEY) in the lower left, enter an abbreviated name of the new room.
- Background picture – press the PICTURE button (blue) to open a list. The procedure is the same as with selecting a picture for buttons.
- Serial number – enter the desired number, which is usually tied in with the room tag.
- Show table numbers – if ticked, each table will have the table ID next to the table.
- Use transparent background – the tables will be shown on a gray (default) background, which would otherwise represent the room floor. This is automatically ticked, when there is no other background selected in the Background picture row.
- Confirm with OK.
To change the details about the room you can also use the CHANGE button to change the already entered information, or the CLEAR button to clear all already entered information or details about the room.
In our case we selected the Terrace from the OPEN menu. No tables are show because no tables had yet been added to the Terrace room since it's a new room. To add a table, we had to click the ADD button. A window with pictures opened, where we selected the desired pictures of a table, wall etc. (a preview is available). We then confirmed the selection by pressing the Open button. An on-screen keyboard opened up automatically, where we could enter the table tag. That can be number or a name. We then confirmed with OK and the keyboard closed. In the top left corner, the picture we chose appeared and its tag. Then we had to grab the table and drag it to where we wanted it on the screen. You can also add more tables to fill out the room. Apart from tables, walls and partition walls are available. Adding and tagging those is done in the same way as adding and tagging tables.
Other available buttons:
- OPEN – open a list of rooms.
- CLEAR – clear a table from the room.
- TABLE NO. – change the number/ID of the table.
- CANCEL – cancel the last move of the table.
- SHOW/HIDE – show or hide tables in the room (walls and partitions won't be hidden).
- CLOSE – finish the editing and exit the editor.
