OLAP sales cube contains the following measures (the table below contains detailed description of individual measure):

 

LABEL UNIT MEANING FORMULA EXAMPLE OF USE
Quantity Item unit of measurement quantity   How many items from category x were sold in described period.
Packages Item unit of measurement Quantity of packages   How many packages of item x were sold in described period.
Value Currency Value   What was the value of sold items.
Price Currency Price Value / Quantity What is the average price of sold items.
Purchase Price Currency Purchase price Purchase Value / Quantity What is the average purchase price of sold.
Gross profit (GP) Currency Difference in value Price difference x quantity sold Which sold items achieved the largest gross profit  in described period.
Gross margin (GM) Currency Difference in price Sale price - purchase price** What was the gross margin of sold items.
Gross profit/value (GP/value) % difference in value per value as percentage (difference in value / value) * 100 How did the per unit gross profit (%) on the value of the sale of item x fluctuate over the last 5 years?
Purchase Value currency purchase value   What was the purchase value of sold items.
Gross profit/cost (GP/cost) % difference in value per purchase value as percentage (difference in value / purchase value) * 100 How did the per unit gross profit (%) on the purchase value of the sale of item x fluctuate over the last 5 years?
Number of purchases   number of customer's (or consignee's***) purchases Number of positions on invoices How many purchases of sold item were made?
Average number of items/invoice   Average number of items in invoices   What was the average number of sold items on invoices?
Average number of categories/invoice   average number of categories in invoices    What was the average number of categories on invoices?
Average amount/invoice Currency  the average amount of a customer's (or consignee's***) purchases  Value / number of invoices Which customers purchase the greatest amountof goods at once?
Change in quantity Unit of meaurement     Quantity of item stock after all the purchases and sales on seleted period.
Change in value Value      Value of item stock after all the purchases and sales on seleted period

* - sale value

** - purchase value plus costs; own price

*** - depends on option selected in the By box in preferences and tools.
