Warning
PANTHEON DMS Add-in installed from Microsoft Store points to local hosting servers. Region field on Add-in determines which hosting server PANTHEON DMS Add-in will connect to.
|
To install PANTHEON DMS Add-in locally, head of IT does the following steps:
 |
HINT
PANTHEON DMS Add-in has to be added to shared folder to be accessible by Microsoft Office. If company already has some network shared folders, you can copy Add-in to that location and add that location to Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel as shown below.
|
First he creates new folder on his computer on location C:/Temp/Add-in.
Then he browses to the link below and transfers PANTHEON DMS.xml file to newly created folder.
https://ftps.datalab.si/Programi/Add-IN
He opens downloaded PANTHEON DMS.xml to edit information.
Three information below are the names, displayed in the header of Add-in, the button and Add-in description (see on the image, which change will effect which information).
<DisplayName DefaultValue="Pantheon DMS 1"/>
<Description DefaultValue="Pantheon DMS 2"/>
<bt:String id="Datalab.TaskpaneButton.Label" DefaultValue="PANTHEON DMS 3" />

Information below are server location, where he changes my.server.xx with custom server location.
<AppDomain>https://my.server.xx</AppDomain>
<SourceLocation DefaultValue="https://my.server.xx/paw-ui/poa/login" />
<bt:Urls>
<bt:Url id="Datalab.DesktopFunctionFile.Url" DefaultValue="https://my.server.xx/paw-ui/poa/login" />
<bt:Url id="Datalab.Taskpane.Url" DefaultValue="https://my.server.xx/paw-ui/poa/login" />
<bt:Url id="Datalab.GetStarted.LearnMoreUrl" DefaultValue="https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=276812" />
</bt:Urls>
He saves the changes and continues by adding folder with .xml to share. On the right click he opens a modal window to set folder sharing.

He sets access to desired people (in our case we added access to everyone with Read/Write permissions).

When this is done, conformation window opens. He clicks on hyperlink copy, which will copy folder location to clipboard for later use.
 |
HINT
If company has any common network folder, Add-in can be copied to that location and used in the process below. Adding local folder to share can be therefore skipped.
|
In next step he opens Microsoft Word (of Microsoft Excel) where he selects File and Options. He browses to Trust Center and clicks Trust Center Settings.

In Trust Center he navigates to Trusted Add-in Catalogs. He pastes location of folder to Catalog Url window.

Then he clicks Add catalog to link location with Microsoft Word and selects Show in Menu.

He clicks Ok and gets a message that settings were saved and that Microsoft Word (or Microsoft Excel) restart is required.
After restart he clicks on button Add-ins and clicks Advanced.

He selects Advanced.

A new window will open that shows files in shared folder. One of the files is also PANTHEON DMS Add-in. He selects it and clicks Add to install Add-in to Microsoft Word. Icon appears on the right in Commands Group and PANTHEON DMS Add-in automatically opens on the right side.
He can login to database with PANTHEON Documentation.
In fields Username and Password he enters his login information.
He enters name of the PANTHEON database in the field Company.
He presses Login button to sign in to PANTHEON DMS Add-in.

His colleague in IT would also like to test PANTHEON DMS Add-in, but he doesn't have Microsoft Office 365 installed and he is using online version.
To install Add-in, he opens Microsoft Word (or Microsoft Excel) online.
Next, he clicks on button Add-ins and clicks Advanced.

A new window will open that shows files in shared folder. On that window he clicks Upload My Add-in and selects location of Add-in.

Once he selects Add-in and clicks Upload, PANTHEON DMS Add-in is successfully added to Microsoft Word (or Microsoft Excel).

To enable Add-in to access databases on different servers, he has to install same Add-in two times. He first creates two copies of Add-in in the same folder: one Add-in (Pantheon DMS MAIN.xml) will access server with main database and other (Pantheon DMS SUB.xml) will access server with subsidiary database.
In each Add-in he changes the following data:
last digit in Id as this separates Add-ins from one another
DisplayName DefaultValue as this will show different names on Add-ins.
String id="Datalab.TaskpaneButton.Label" DefaultValue as this will separate names of buttons.
Then he installs each of the Add-ins manually.
Once this is done, Add-ins are clearly distinguished and if both Add-ins are opened, CFO can switch between them with icons on the right panel (marked below).
