Grazing planning

Grazing planning

Grazing planning is a functionality to plan future grazings. It enables you to calculate expected daily forage grazing, total grazing days and recovery days from previous grazing. Created plan can be directly transferred to realization or duplicated on another pasture through right click.

Pastures

Left panel contains list of all pastures. This is a list of fields with pasture land use.

Pasture ID ID of pasture.
Name Name of pasture
Area (ha) Size of pasture (in ha).
Average ADA Calculation of average forage consummation of one animal in one day.

Grazing Planning

In right panel you can set grazing plan for each pasture. For each grazing start date, end date and animals (or animal groups) have to be selected.

Start date Start date of pasture.
End date End date of pasture.
Animals Animals that will be sent to pasture. You can select either individual animal of whole group of animals. If animal is disposed, values will be updated.
LS Units Total livestock units
LU/ha Livestock units per hectare.
Daily forage grazing (kg) Calculated expected daily forage. Value is calculates from grazing settings in administration panel.
Total grazing days Total grazing days in created grazing plan.
Recovery days from previous grazing Day from last grazing plan.

Once single plan is created, you can also transfer this plan to another pasture or duplicate it. This is done through right click on individual plan. Ne pop-up menu will open with multiple options:

  • Create grazing from plan: transfers grazing plan to grazing realization (to tabular overview) and creates actual grazing.

In duplicate menu you have multiple options:

  • Continue from same pasture: creates new plan with same selected animals and start date one day after end of previous plan.
  • Continue on: creates new plan with same selected animals and start date one day after end of previous plan on another pasture (selected from list).
  • Continue next year on same pasture: creates same plan with same settings one year later.
  • Continue next year on: creates same plan with same settings one year later on another pasture (selected from list).
