Šifranti so podatki vpisani v podatkovno bazo ki jih stalno uporabljamo. Tako poznamo na primer šifrante poštnih številk, valut, kupcev ipd. Značilno za šifrante je, da jih uporabljamo povsod tam, kjer želimo nek podatek vpisati enkrat in ga večkrat uporabljati.
