Show message on serial number expiration date
This chapter will describe the functionality to display a message that the selected serial number has expired on POSX invoice.

HINT
TUsing expiration dates reduces product loss due to unexpected expiry, and helps to avoid sending expired products to customers. But, only products that are tracked using serial numbers can be assigned expiration information. Once a serial number has been assigned, an expiration date can be set.

Case summary
Calvin Clerk, from sale's department, wants to set settings for showing message if the chosen serial number is expired. In order to do that, the responsible person follows these steps:
- POS document type setting
- Review changes

In order to do activate the functionality for showing message on serial number expiration date, the person responsible selects Settings | Program | Document Types in the main menu.
The Document types register window opens.

The person responsible select the checkbox Show message on serial expirational date, and save the changes by clicking the
button in the toolbar.

WARNING
Changes to the settings must be saved so that they are reflected immediately

The responsible person continues by checking the applied settings.
They open the POSX issue document and they create issued document where they add an item whose serial number knows that has expired.

A warning message appears with the information that the serial number is expired.

The responsible person confirms the message by clicking on
button.
