Reproduction - Pigs
The Reproduction tab is used to enter data about an animal's reproduction.
Reproduction Cycle
| Insemination Date |
The date when the animal was been inseminated. |
| Insemination Type |
Options are:
- Artificial insemination
- Natural insemination

| Anticipated Date of Birth |
Date of expected birth. Field is calculated automatically from formula (insemination + 115 days). |
| Sire ID |
The ID of the sire (father) that inseminated the animal.

| Sire Breed |
The breed of the sire (father) that inseminated the animal. |
| Checked On |
The date when the animal has been checked for pregnancy. |
| Is Pregnant |
Mark whether the animal is pregnant or not. |
| Date of Birth/Abortion |
The date when the animal gave birth or had an abortion. |
| Outcome |
The outcome of the insemination. Options are:
- Farrow
- Abortion
- Unsuccessful insemination

| Live Births |
The number of live born piglets. |
| Stillbirths |
The number of stillborn piglets.

Note (free entry). |
| Weaning Date |
Date of piglet weaning. |
| Weanings |
Number of weaned animals. |
| Document No. |
In the case of artificial insemination, the number of the document given by the veterinarian upon insemination. |
Live Births
| Breed |
The breed of the calf. |
| Sex |
The sex of the newborn calf. |
| Internak Mark |
Internal mark of a specific animal. |
| Animal ID |
At birth, AUTOID number is allocated to specific animal. |
| Sire ID |
The sire ID is filled in automatically from reproduction cycle. |
| Mass at Birth |
Mass of animal at birth. |
| Color |
Color of animal at birth |
| Purpose |
Production purpose of newborn. |
| Estimated value |
Estimted value at birth. User has to fill this in order to create document. |
When number of inserted live births exceeds number stated on reproduction cycle, software will issue a warning.
Entered animal can be deleted by pressing Ctrl-Delete on keyboard. A warning below will show up.
Statistics
| Insemination Index |
The insemination index is calculated by dividing the number of inseminations with the number of pregnancies of an animal. |
| Days to First Insem. |
The number of days between calving and the next insemination. |
| Days Betw. Insem. |
The number of days between inseminations, in case the first was not successful. |
| Avg. Days Pregnant |
The average number of days on that the animal was pregnant. |
| Live Births |
The total number of live born offspring. |
| Stillbirths |
The total number of stillborn offspring. |
Suckler
Pig reproduction enables reallocation of offsprings to another mother (suckler pigs). This can be inserted through animal register. Information about reallocated pigs are stored in tab Suckler
