Reproduction (Cattle)
The Reproduction tab is used to enter data about an animal's reproduction.
Reproduction Cycle
In this grid user inserts information about reproduction cycles with all the details.
| Anticipated Calving Date |
The date when the cow is expected to calve. Date is calculated automatically based on insemination date and setting in Administration panel. This date is also written to calendar. |
| Insemination Date |
Date of animal insemination. |
| Insemination Type |
Type of insemination. User has different options:
- Insemination (AS)
- Repeated Insemination (AR)
- Natural Insemination (NS)
- Repeated Natural Insemination (NR)

| Veterinarian |
Farmer inserts veterinarian, who performed an insemination.

| Price |
Price (or cost) of insemination. |
| Sire from register |
User selects sire from register, that is inserted in Administration panel. Selection of sire from register will automatically fill other sire data (Sire ID, Sire Name, Sire Reg. No.). |
| Sire ID |
ID of sire that inseminated this cow. |
| Sire Name |
Name of sire that inseminated this cow. |
| Pregnancy Check |
The date when the cow has been checked for pregnancy. |
| Is Pregnant |
Information if animal is pregnant. |
| Sire Sem. ID |
Semen ID from sire. Sire is selected from dropdown list and has to be inserted in Bull register. How sire is shown in dropdown depends if stock management is activated for sire semen or not. For more information see How to? case on link below. |
| Date of Outcome |
Date of outcome of individual reproduction cycle. |
| Outcome |
The outcome of the insemination. Options are:
- Calving (CL)
- Abortus (AB)
- Unsuccessful insemination (US)

| Live Births |
Number of live born calves.

| Stillbirths |
Number of stillbirth calves. |
| Sire semen document |
Internal move document for used sire semen. |
| Insemination document |
ID of insemination document (added manually). |
| Doc. No. of inseminationcosts |
This field is filled automatically when farmer creates an invoice for the cost. |
| Dry-off date |
Date of dry-off. This date will also close latest open lactation cycle which will change animal status of dry. |
| Treatment |
If this checkbox is selected, grid for offsprings will change with grid for treatments. This grid is used to record information about infertility for individual reproduction cycle. Information are also visible in health tab. |

If previous reproduction cycle is not closed (outcome is not inserted) this IRIS message will appear. |
Live Calves
In live calves user inserts all newborn animals. For each inserted animal new animal record will be created with link to mother and father.
| Sex |
The sex of the newborn calf. |
| Breed |
The breed of the calf. Breed has to be inserted in items. |
| Animal ID |
The ID number of the calf, assigned within one week of birth. With double click on animal ID, animal record will open. |
| Name |
The name given to the calf. |
| Date of Birth |
The date of birth is filled in automatically based on date of result of reproduction cycle. |
| Sire ID |
The sire ID is filled in automatically from reproduction cycle (if you have that information). |
| Sire Name |
The name of the sire is filled in automatically from reproduction cycle (if you have that information). |
| Sire Semen ID |
The sire registration number is filled in automatically from reproduction cycle (if you have that information). |
| Purpose |
Purpose of animal use. |
| Estim. Value |
Estimated value of animal at birth. |

When number of inserted live births exceeds number stated on reproduction cycle, software will issue a warning to check number of livebirths. |
