Alternates

PanTHEON's basic cutting room offers us the possibility to use Alternatives to simplify and speed up our work in production preparation.
In the following, we will illustrate how to create a new product alternative in the basic piecework.
 |
CASE SUMMARY:
Peter Producer will add a new alternative LARA MATERIAL 2 to the LARA3 ident piece and add positions to it in the same way as in the previous examples. This is done by the following procedure:
- Opening a lump sum
- Adding an alternative
- Adding positions
- Showing alternatives
|
1. Opening a lump sum
The person responsible for opening the Basic Cutting Board selects Settings | Production | Cutting Boards | Basic Cutting Board.
In the search engine, in the message bar, search for the LARA3 id and select the id to open the associated workbook.
2. Adding an alternative
On the left side of the Basic Timberline window, you can see the tree structure of the timberline. The structure shows all the levels of the cutline and alternatives according to the selected filter above the structure.

To add a new Alternative right-click on an empty space in the Body Structure window and select Add Alternative in the window.

A new blank Alternative subform opens, where you enter the alternative number and the name of the alternative LARA MATERIAL 2 in the Alternative field.
Set Status to Confirmed and select Termination Method by technological procedures.
By clicking on the Act. activates the alternative and saves it by clicking on the green tick. The alternative is immediately visible in the tree structure.

In PANTHEON, alternatives can be used in two ways, with one active alternative or several active alternatives. You can read more about this in the Alternatives in pieceworks section.

In PANTHEON, it is also possible to add a phantom assembly as an alternative to the basic piecework. The phantom assembly will only be added as a position when creating work orders from the basic piecework and will not be created as a separate work order.
You can read more about this in Phantom - virtual assembly.

3. Adding positions
The person responsible shall add positions to the Alternative in the same way as in the previous examples. When entering a position, care must be taken to select from the drop-down list the correct alternative number to which the material or working operation is linked.

4. Showing alternatives
When selecting the Traffic lane tab, only the positions of the active alternative are displayed.
To see the positions of all alternatives, right-click anywhere in the box and select Show all alternatives from the list.

The positions of all alternatives are now visible in the list
