Entering work operations

To enter more detailed information about working operation positions in Basic Workbook , use the Operations tab. In positions we can enter idents that have a defined ident type Service.

In the following, we will show how to enter the positions of the work operations.

CASE SUMMARY

Peter the Producer will enter the O-Sewing work operation in the position and link the resource SE3002 – Sewing Machine 3002 to it and define the production times. Finally, he will check that the appropriate materials are associated with the operation. He does this with the following koarki:

  1. Open the Operations tab
  2. Creating a new position
  3. Adding resources to a work operation
  4. Determining times
  5. Linking materials to the work operation

1. Open the Operations tab

The person responsible for adding work operations selects the Operations tab in the editing-baseline-cutsheets Baseline-cutsheets for the LARA3 ident we created in the Creating-baseline-cutsheets example.

2. Creating a new position

When you select the Operations tab, an empty sub-sheet appears.

Selecting the button (Enter record) will open a new row and automatically fill in the position sequence number, in this case 30.

In the Ident field, the responsible person selects the O-Seeding operation, and the data from the Ident Shift is automatically populated accordingly.

WARNING

Only idents that are defined as services can be entered in work operation positions.

By selecting the save button, the position is saved and is visible with specifications in the table in the Operations and Ticket tabs.

3. Adding resources to a work operation

The responsible person continues by entering the operation's basic data. Leave the data to be filled in automatically as default.

To add resources related to a work operation, select the search magnifying glass that appears when you click on the drop-down list in the Resources section in the bottom right corner of the form.

A search engine opens where the person responsible searches for SE3002 – Sewing Machine 3002 and selects it by double-clicking the mouse or by selecting the Find key.

WARNING

With PANTHEON, you can already define the external operation to be carried out by your co-operator as part of the basic cut list. You can then report the work of your co-operator on this operation via a work order. Later, you can easily link these external operations from the work order to the summary invoice.

4. Determining times

In addition to the data automatically populated by PANTHEON from the resource shifter, the responsible person fills in information about different production times.

In the Tn field (Working or processing time), specify the time needed to produce one unit of the product - in this case 0.25 hours.

In the Tpz(Preparation finish time) field, specify the time to prepare and clean the machine before starting the working operations - in this case 0.12 hours.

HINT

You can find out more about production lead times and production scheduling HERE.

5. Linking materials to the work operation

Clicking on the at the left edge of each operation row will open the table of Materials on which the selected Work operation is performed. It is therefore important that the responsible person enters the positions thoughtfully, as all materials entered between the Work operation and the previous operation fall under the Work operation.

HINT

It is possible to correct the sequence of positions later using the Rearrange Positions tool in the wizard.
