Optional table

Optional table

The selection table is used to select data from the code list. It is found wherever we need to select one of the possible records in the code list. The presence of a selection table is indicated by an arrow () at the end of the entry field.

HINT

If you know the code of the record you are looking for (in full, or at least the initial characters), you can partially enter the initial few characters of the code to get to the first piece of information that matches what you entered (see Basics - Scrolling through data). Then select the desired data with the cursor keys or the mouse and confirm the selection by clicking the mouse or pressing the Enter key on the keyboard.

WARNING

Double-clicking in the box opens a script containing the data you want to select. This allows you to quickly view the data in the codebook, add a new record to the codebook or modify an existing record in the codebook.
