Adding Poultry

Poultry is a farm animal raised for breeding and various uses. The veterinarian visits the owner of the animal on the field or at the location of the flock (group of animals). During the first inspection, the veterinarian first enters the flock into the program, where a unique code is created for the group of animals.
In this chapter, we will present an example of creating a new code for poultry. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinarian | Registers | Owners and Animals, tab Poultry.
 |
CASE SUMMARY
A veterinarian on the field regularly vaccinates poultry. At the location of the farm of the owner Izak Brojler, the veterinarian will first list the flocks of animals (broilers), which they will also vaccinate. The process of creating a new code for the flock of animals will be carried out in the following steps:
- Searching for the owner's code
- Entering data on the General tab
- Entering data on the Poultry tab
- Printing animal data
|
1. Searching for the owner's code
The person responsible on the field first checks or searches for the owner's code, where they can then create a new code for the animal. The detailed procedure for searching for the owner is described in the chapter Searching for an owner or animal in the register.
 |
WARNING
If the owner is not yet registered in the PANTHEON VET program, the person responsible first enters the owner, then the animal. For more detailed instructions, see the chapter Adding a new owner.
|
2. Entering data on the General tab
The person responsible will enter a code for the entire group of animals into the program.
- The person responsible clicks on the + New group button, located in the toolbar.

-
On the General tab, the fields for entering new data are emptied, where the person responsible will enter the data.
-
In the Group ID field, the person responsible enters a unique code or creates it using the program. In our case, the person responsible will use the Id button to create the code.
-
Clicks on the Id button and the program automatically creates a code in the Group ID field.
-
The responsible person continues with the entry in the Group name field. In our case, they enter: Broilers - 50 broilers.
-
In the No. animals the person responsible enters the flock size: 50.
-
The person responsible continues to enter data in the remaining fields. The entry procedure is described in the chapter Animal entry (general).
The image below shows the final entry of data about the flock of broilers, made by the person responsible on the field.

3. Entering data on the Poultry tab
After entering the basic data about the flock of animals, the appropriate tab is created depending on the selected type of animal. In our case, the Poultry tab was created.
 |
HINT
The data entered on the Poultry tab is for informational purposes only, i.e. the data is not mandatory.
|
- The person responsible selects Broilers from the drop-down list in the Poultry type field.
- The animal's color is also specified in the Color (o) field. In our case, the person responsible selects White from the drop-down list.

4. Printing animal data
If the person responsible wants to check the data on the poultry flock or print it out to the owner, they do so in the manner described in detail in the chapter Dog entry.
The image below shows a printout of data on the broiler flock made by the person responsible on the field.
