Lines in Posting Template
Lines in Posting Template |
|
|

Enter formulas for calculating in lines of posting templates and (if necessary)
define accounts to which the calculated amount is to be posted.
Line
| Here is displays the consecutive line number
from formula and account settings. It is generated automatically and can be
changed if required. The numbers are numbered by tens, thus making any
subsequent insetrting of lines easier.
|
Type
| Select the method, that is, type of data collection from
formulas and posted amounts by selected accounts.
Select the following methods used in
collecting data and posting:
- S - Summary - Using it collects and posts summary data on accounts from
formulas, that is, distribute them by departments and cost centers from
distibution key (if selected). This is the most oftenused type of data
collection. See
Preparing to Close Classet 4 and 7.
- P - By Subjects- Using it collects and posts data according
to subjects from posting lines.
- O - By Departments- Using it collects and posts data
according to departments as set in posting lines.
See
Closing Classes 4 and 7 by Departments.
- A - By Subjects and Depts. - Using it collects and posts
data according to subjects and departments. Thus combinig types P
and O.
- N - By Depts. and Cost Ctrs.- Using it collects and
posts data according to departments and cost centers from posting lines.
See
Closing Classes 4 and 7 by Departments and Cost Centers.
|
Name
| Here you can enter any name of posting line,
that is, any description of functions carried out in the line.
|
Formula
| Enter the formula representing:
1. What Sort of Operation You Want to Perform Using the Specified
Expression, That Is, Account.
The following operators are available for use:
- R - Revaluation - Use this operation whenever you want to
revaluate transactions on the account mentioned later by using
revaluation rates. It is used in revaluating capital and long-term
provisions. For detailed treatment see example in
Capital Revaluation Report.
- S - Sum - By using this operation you sum up the specified
expression or account, that is sum up transactions to this account. For
a more detailed treatment see for example formulas used in posting VAT (Setting
up Transfer Accounts).
- A - Line Amount - By using this operation whenever you
attempt to use in line a result or value calculated in previous lines.
For a more detailed treatment see for example formulas used in
posting VAT (Setting up Transfer Accounts).
- O - Interest- By using it you can calculate interest of
transactions on the specified account by using interest rate table.
Whenever you do use it in a formula, it is MANDATORY for you to selecte
the interest rate table in header. For a more detailed treatment see
capital revaluation report including interest rate table (Calculation
Using Interest Rate Table).
2. With Which Accounts or Groups of Accounts the Setting Is Used.
Here such expressions are used like in
financial reports, hence you can directly reference accounts in
general ledger:
- D – debit transactions in a given period
- K – credit transactions in a given period
- S – absolute value of account balance in a given period =
|D - K|
- P - Credit – Debit (credit balance in a given period) = K
- D
- O – Debit – Credit (debit balance in a given period) = D
- K
Enter expressions offset by # (hash) sign. You can reference individual
account codes or classes, groups, any level of analytics, etc… Use
wildcard characters
Below You Can Observe Examples of Correctly Defined Expressions:
- #SD28%# - balance of debit transactions on accounts of group 28
- #SO4%# - sum of debit balance on accounts of class 4
- #RP90%# - revaluation of credit balance on accounts of group 90
- #A10# - #A20# - amount from line 10 in posting template, less
the amount from line
20 in the same template
Because expression in the formula
can be quite lengthy, you can view the complete formula in the bottom
section. |
 | Test
formula - By clicking this button tests
the entered formula
(It tests regularity of formula, that is, whther it includes all
characteristics requred for successful calculation). |
POSTING DATA
It is not mandatory to enter them. If you leave these fields empty,
displays calculation according to the entered formula. Of course, you
cannot perform posting. You can prepare formulas by defining posting to
the debit side in one line, and posting to the credit side in another.
|
Account DR/
Use Formula
|
- Select the account on the debit side of
which you post the calculated amount. Use this option whenever the total
obtained amount is posted to the debit side of one single account.
Selecting the account in this field rules out the option Use Formula.
- Check the Use Formula
checkbox whenever you want the amount posted to the debit side of all
those accounts specified in formula. Multiple accounts are used in
posting to the debit side. If checked, it rules out the option of
selecting individual accounts.
If you attempt to determine account as well as use formula from the
current line, it returns an error (see
Error in account settings (DEBIT)!).
|
Account CR/
Use Formula
|
- Select the account on the credit side
of which you post the calculated amount. Use this option whenever the
total obtained amount is posted to the credit side of one single account.
Selecting the account in this field rules out the option Use Formula.
- Check the Use Formula
checkbox whenever you want the amount posted to the credit side of all
those accounts specified in formula. Multiple accounts are used in
posting to the credit side. If checked, it rules out the option of
selecting individual accounts.
If you attempt to determine account as well as use formula from the
current line, it returns an error (see
Error in account settings
(CREDIT)!).

Distribution Key
|
If you want to perform posting by distributing lines by departments
uisng the distribution key, select the corresponding one from
Distribution Keys register by using which you can calculate
portions of individual departments.
