Authorizations for Cost Centers

With the use of authorization for a certain cost center, the user can be given additional authorization for entry, use and altering of cost centers, documents and lines containing a cost center. According to the levels of authorizations, you can use the most extensive (Delete) or the most narrow (Zero) authorization of the user.

To assign authorizations for cost centers, you first have to import the cost centers in the Authorizations panel.

• If the user is assigned zero authorizations for a certain cost center and at the same time the option Hide Restricted Cost Centers from Unauthorized Users is selected in the program parameters, he or she cannot view nor use these cost centers.
• If the user is assigned zero authorizations for a certain cost center and does not have the option  Hide Restricted Cost Centers from Unauthorized Users selected in the program parameters,, he or she can otherwise view cost centers, but cannot use them. So then enter in cost centers or documents. In that case the program responds with an error message (see You are not authorized for this operation (xxx)!).

If the user is assigned zero authorizations for the Cost Centers menu, the program displays the message You are not authorized for this operation (reading) when updating documents. In this case the user should be assigned at least reading authorizations overriding authorizations for cost centers.

With assigning authorizations for cost centers the days are not being considered.

Authorization may involve Authorization on change of cost center key, thereby preventing the user to change all cost centers key.
