Delete FA Disposal

The Delete FA Disposal form is designed to ensure accurate and consistent removal of asset disposals by simultaneously deleting both the journal entry from the General Ledger and the corresponding line with the Entry Type 6 – Disposal of fixed asset from the Value tab of the asset record.

In cases where a disposal has been recorded incorrectly, manually deleting only the journal entry does not automatically remove the related line with the disposal Entry Type from the Value tab. Instead, only the Related Document field with the journal number is cleared, leaving the disposal entry visible in the asset register. This can result in inconsistencies between accounting records and the asset register. Additionally, the asset will no longer appear on any lists of active assets or reports and will be excluded from future Depreciation Calculations.

Deleting the line with the disposal Entry Type in the Value tab is not possible as long as the related journal posting remains in the General Ledger. The Delete FA Disposal function resolves this issue by ensuring both entries are removed together, maintaining alignment between asset and financial records.

The form can be accessed from the Fixed assets and Small Tools registers, by right-clicking in the Value tab.

Hint

Examples of how to use the Delete FA Disposal form are described on the corresponding pages of the User Manual.

The module consists of the following functional units (Use this for User Guide):

Deactivation Date Specifies the date on which the selected assets were deactivated. By default, this field is automatically populated with the Deactivation Date of the asset where the right-click function was used in the Value tab.

Find FA

(Find Fixed Asset)
Provides a quick search function for locating a specific asset within the list, when multiple assets share the same Deactivation Date. Entering an asset’s inventory number and pressing Enter will highlight the corresponding asset row with a distinct black border, simplifying navigation and selection.

(Delete Disposal Button)

Clicking the  (Delete Disposal) button initiates the deletion of the disposal for the selected assets. This action removes the disposal journal entries from the General Ledger and simultaneously deletes the corresponding Entry Type 6 – Disposal of fixed asset lines from the Value tab of the selected assets.

Sel.

(Select)
Checkboxes allow selection of one or more assets for which disposal data will be deleted. Right-click to select or deselect all.

Inventory No.

(Inventory Number)

Lists the Inventory Numbers of all disposed assets based on the Deactivation Date field.

Warning

Active assets will not appear in the list.

Name The primary Name of the asset, such as Fence, Building or Computer as recorded in the Name field of the register’s Header.
Name 2 An optional secondary Name for further identification of the asset. This complements the main Name field and helps distinguish between similar assets. For example, Lenovo ThinkPad T16, when the main Name field is simply Computer.
Date Displays the date on which the deactivation entry of the asset was recorded in the Value tab. This helps verify the accuracy and currency of the asset information before proceeding with disposal deletion.
Value Indicates the Value of the asset, as recorded in the Purchase Value field of the disposal line within the Value tab.
