In this panel you can set parameters for searching and generating EAN codes. 

In the Settings | Program | Administration Panel | Settings | Items  | EAN are following sub-panels, where you can set program parameters:

Items Register

Field Field of the Items register in which the program fills-in the EAN code (i.e. »item« for the item ID).
Constant This is a constant at the beginning of the code (you can leave blank)..      
Check for Duplicates If you select this option, the program will run a check if this code already exist, before recording it.
EAN type In this field you can select from the drop-down menu the type of the EAN code:
  • 0 - No EAN code - EAN code will not be used or generated
  • 1 - EAN 9
  • 2 - EAN 13.

External IDs

Field Field of the Items register in which the program fills-in the EAN code (i.e. »ID« for the external ID).
Constant This is a constant at the beginning of the code (you can leave blank).
Check for Duplicates If you select this option, the program will run a check if this code already exist, before recording it.

If this option will be selected and the code will exist, the program will report an error: EAN code already in use for x!.

EAN type In this field you can select from the drop-down menu the type of the EAN code:
  • 0 - No EAN code - EAN code will not be used or generated
  • 1 - EAN 9
  • 2 - EAN 13.

The program will generate the EAN code if Field is not defined and you have selected in the EAN type field the 0 - No EAN code option. The check digit will be calculated by the program.

Codes linked to Serial Number Templates

In case there are codes set of different parameters then the template for such codes can be set in this setting. It is available only on POSX. When code generated according to settings will be entered in POSX program will add item and quantity/price.

Type of code From a dropdown table a type of code is chosen.
Prefix code Prefix code is entered manually
Item search Items can be searched by Item code, Subject code or Supplier code. Here the preffered option is selected.
Item lenght

Item lenght is set. So in this code setting the lenght od item code is set. Same lenght item code should have in Item settings.

Quantity or Price From a dropdown menu a setting is set either in code quantity or price is written.
Lenght of embedded code Lenght of either quantity or Price is set
Decimal places Decimal places for either quantity or price is set.
