The Costing/Pricing panel has two functions: That is, costing and pricing data of an existing item, which belongs in the selected category, are copied to a newly-added item (first you have to mark the checkbox 000491.gif on the right side of individual field). Data are copied to the Items register only if you have previously marked the checkbox on the right side of individual field 000491.gif). You can select two methods of price calculation which differ significantly: one is based on cost (markup is calculated) and the other is based on sale price (discount is calculated).

Price Calculation and Copying Price Where Item Is in

Price Calculation Select an option or method used in price calculation (for more information see Item Pricing):
  • Based on Cost (calculate markup) – Most often used in calculating sale price. Here the base for calculating pricing factors (discount, transport costs, etc.) equals cost. To calculate sale price, you have to know amount of cost (that is, purchase price increased by pricing factors).
  • Based on Sale Price (calculate discount) - Here the base for calculating cost and corresponding pricing factors equal sale price (VAT excluded) of the first price class. Select this method for the purpose of selling goods at a recommended sale price which is known at that time. In addition, the supplier grants discount on sale price. After calculating price, the sale price is copied to the field for supplier's price.
Copy Price Where Item in (only for categories of B - Both type) It is used in price calculation. Since it can be used for both primary or secondary category, you have to determine how it is used in the Items register.
  • Primary Category – It is used when the category is recorded in Items as primary category.
  • Secondary Category – It is used when the category is recorded in Items as secondary category.

PRICING FACTORS

Price calculation is performed only for data where you ticked the right-hand side checkbox 000491.gif.

Supplier's Discount Enter percentage value of supplier's discount. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Discount = Supplier's_Price * Discount_Percentage_Value
  • Based on Sale Price: Discount = Supplier's_Price * Discount_Percentage_Value, where the Supplier_Price =(is equivalent to) Sale_Price
Transport Enter percentage value of transport costs. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Transport_Cost = (Supplier's_Price - Discount) * Transport_Cost_Percentage_value
  • Based on Sale Price: Transport_Cost = (Supplier's_Price - Discount) * Transport_Cost_Percentage_Value
Customs Enter percentage value of customs duty. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Customs_Duty = (Supplier's_Price + Transport_Cost) * Customs_Duty_Percentage_Value
  • Based on Sale Price: Customs_Duty = (Supplier's_Price + Transport_Cost) * Customs_Duty_Percentage_Value
Direct Costs Enter percentage value of direct costs. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Direct_Costs = (Supplier's_Price + Transport_Cost) * Direct_Costs_Percentage_Value
  • Based on Sale Price: Direct_Costs = (Supplier's_Price + Transport_Cost) * Direct_Costs_Percentage_Value

COSTING FACTORS

– Price calculation is performed only for data where you ticked the right-hand side checkbox 000491.gif.

Sale price Enter percentage value of sale price. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Sale_Price = Cost * Sale_Price_Markup_Percentage_Value
  • Based on Sale Price: Although having entered the fields and ticked the checkboxes, it is not used since it is the basis in price calculation.
Wholes. Price 1 Enter percentage value of wholesale price 1. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Wholesale_Price1 = Cost * Wholesale_Price1_Markup_Percentage_Value
  • Based on Sale Price: Wholesale_Price1 = Sale_Price * (100 - Wholesale_Price1_Markup_Percentage_Value)
Wholes. Price 2 Enter percentage value of wholesale price 2. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Wholesale_price2 = Cost * Wholesale_Price2_Markup_Percentage_Value
  • Based on Sale Price: Wholesale_Price2 = Sale_Price * (100 - Wholesale_Price2_Markup_Percentage_Value)
Spec Enter percentage value of specification price. It is calculated according to the formulas below:
  • Based on Cost: Spec_Price = Cost
  • Based on Sale Price Spec_Price = Sale_Price * (100 - Spec_Price_Markup_Percentage_Value)
Recalculate
Click it to recalculate cost and sale price of all items included in the category and copy it to the Items register. First you have to confirm the operation (for more information see Do you really want to recalculate prices? Existing prices will be overwritten!). Click the OK button to recalculate and copy cost and prices. Then a message is displayed informing you that the process has finished (for more information see Price recalculation complete!).
000001.gif It is an irreversible process. Take care when using this operation since you will change existing information!
