Milk control data import

Users that test their milk quality in laboratories and receive results in Excel file, can import this file in PANTHEON Farming. User can access this functionality on animal record by clicking on Import/Export data button ()and selecting option Import Milk Analysis Data.

User can only import data for female milking animals, that have lactation cycles opened.

This will open new pop-up window.

Data import

First user selects file that he would like to import. If software finds some existing animals, he will show information about date of birth.

With click on button  software will check animal records and compare existing data. By selecting Hide Already Saved Data software will only show data in grid that haven't been saved.

Data check

Once data is imported and checked, there are few possible outcomes which are described in Error/Note column:

  • Animal does not exist! - This means, that animal record doesn't exist so user has to insert new animal record.
  • Enter lactation interval. - This means that animal record exists in database, but lactation cycle in period of milk control is not opened. User can either open lactation cycle for selected animals and repeat data import or open lactation cycle in process of import, which is shown below.
  • cell is empty - This means that everything is prepared for import. This animals is also automatically selected for data save.

Click on button  will proceed to the next step.

Enter lactation cycles

This step of data import will open new pop-up for each data in row that don't have opened lactation cycle. It will show animal ID and name, date of milk analysis and two fields for date of birth of calf (date when lactation cycle starts) and date of dry-off (when lactation cycle closes). This will create new lactation cycle for selected animal and insert record of milk analysis.

Software will also check, if inserted lactation period is too long. If lactation cycle that will be saved through this pop-up is longer than 365 day, warning below will be shown. If user clicks yes, data will be saved, by selecting No, he can change data.

If user doesn't want to insert selected milk control, he can skip import by clicking on button .

When user finishes inserting data about lactation cycles, data is prepared for import (see below). By clicking on , data will be imported.

Saved data will be marked as saved, button will change back to Check data and process can be repeated.

Unavailable data

Whe user tries to close pop-up for milk analysis import, software will check if there are some lactation cycles opened and no data were saved from this file. This is a check if maybe some animals were dried off before milk analysis and this wasn't recorded in software. If this is the case, message below will appear.

If user clicks No, pop-up will be closed. If he clicks Yes, lactation cycles will appear in new grid. In case that milk analysis data exists, but were missing in Excel, user can manually add data in grid. If these animals were dried off. he can insert date of dry-off directly in grid and lactation cycles will be closed.

After data are inserted in grid and saved, user can simply close pop-up.
