Item Type
Apart from the name, item category, unit of measurement, tax group, tax rate, price, minimum stock and default quantity, you need to assign a Product type to a new item. The product type option determines, whether an item is treated as goods, a service, service package or goods package. You can select the product type in the Master data – Items menu.
When you press the Items button, a list of all added items appears. When you select an individual item, a new tab with the item's details opens, including the Product type field.
There are four options. You can sell the item as:
| Purchased goods |
Represents a whole product that can be used as part of a package. If you select this option, the Package field will be hidden. |
| Goods package |
Can consist of several whole or partial items, and can be used in combination with services. |
| Service package |
This is a package of different services and can be used in combination with the Purchased goods and goods package. |

Tracking warehouse stock is possible only for the product type Purchased goods.
