Scanning and Searching for Items Using a Barcode Reader

Pantheon RA (mobilePOS) offers scanning and searching for items with a Bluetooth barcode scanner as the input method.

The first step to enable the Bluetooth barcode scanner is to pair it with your Android device. Pairing is described in the “PAIRING BARCODE READER WITH ANDROID DEVICE” section.

Adding Barcodes to Items

To add a barcode to an item, you have to add the Item first. You can add a barcode to an Item following these steps:

In Pantheon RA (mobilePOS) → Master Data → Items → Select an Item and in “UPC/EAN” scan barcode from the Item.

The space  after the scanned barcode means that automatically is added enter after scanning. Enter is mandatory parameter to be able to scan and automatically select items at the cash register and not just enter scanned code.

Press Save to save the changes.

Searching Items with barcode scanner

To search for items by barcode, position the cursor in the search field (highlighted in yellow in the picture below), scan the barcode to select the Item and you already have selected item.
