Feeding: cattle, milk production

Feeding calculation for cattle, milk production

If user inserts feeding plan for Cattle and picks Purpose: Milk, he will get calculation for cattle milk production.

Meal settings

Diet is planned per one animal in the group. The most important information in this part is Milk Yield/Milking Day. This is expected quantity of milk per animal per day of milking. Information Avg Animal Weight is to calculate Maintenance Req. and Intake capacity. 

Intake Capacity is calculated from Milk Yield/Milking DayAvg Animal Weight and type of animals in the feed. Requirements for Liter Milk iz information about quantity of components needed for L of milk. Information is set automatically from hard-coded formula, but can be manually edited.

Meal benchmarks and costs show simple calculations about meals. User can see comparison between expected and achieved intake capacity and expected and achieved milk yields. metabolizable energy and crude protein are disabled for milk meal. Costs are summarized from cost on individual feed and quantity of feed.

Meal calculation details and warnings

If user would like to see advanced details, he has to select this in wizard. User clicks on Wizards button () and selects Meal details.

This section contains calculations and limitations of feeding plan. Calculations are done based on diet components. Mask contains detailed information about diet. Software contains quantity of milk produced from Net Energy for Lactation and Digestible Crude Proteins and compares difference. Quantity of milk is calculated for roughage feed and total feed. Field Maintenance req. contains information about feed needed for animals to survive.
