Add database layer

Add database layer

Clicking on the Add database layer in standard toolbars menu

Add Database Layer

provides for opening a vector layer of a type stored entirely in a database running on the local computer or a network connected server. This menu item invokes the Add database layers dialog box

containing list of possible database layers. When added, the database layer is automatically rendered on the Map area. If there is a currently open map project or layer, the new layer is added to the current project and appears in the layer list on the Legend panel.

The program automatically attempts to read the coordinate system information of the newly opened SQL layer and, if different than the map area coordinate system, reprojects the display of the SQL layer to the map area coordinate system
