Use of hierarchies

PANTHEON analytics supports the use of hirarchies. To use hierarchies, you first have to define a few settings:

1. Define structure of hierarchies

To use hierarchies, you have to define them. In our case we defined hierarchies for primary classification.

2. Activate hierarchies in administration panel

To activate hierarchies on OLAP cube, level of hierarchies has to be defined. Up to four hierarchies are supported for each dimension. Level 0 means that hierarchies are note used on OLAP cubes.

000001.gif Processing of cubes is required after each change in hierarcihes level.

3. Use of hierarchies

Hierarchies of classifications are visible within dimensions for items. Where hierarchy level is marked with sign -> this leve of hierarchy does not exisit. E.g.: item COOKING3 doesn't have third level of hierarchy, it only has two.
