Cash register journal overview

At the end of the business day or shift, it is imperative we always close the POS cash register and create a cash receipt for all received means of payment with various payment methods. With the help of the Cash register journal feature, we can easily view the list of cash register journals for a certain period.

In this chapter, we will introduce you to the Cash register journals overview feature.

CASE SUMMARY

The person responsible wishes to look at the list of all cash register journals for POS Retail in 2021. They want to have a visualization of all issued invoices on the printout of one journal from the list of journals. They do this by following the next steps:

  1. Opening the Cash register journals submodule
  2. Entering criteria for the journal list
  3. Previewing the journal
  4. Printing the journal

1. Opening the Cash register journals submodule

The person responsible wishes to look at the cash register journal overview for 2021.

For this purpose, they choose the Retail POS module and then open the Cash register journals submodule.

They continue by selecting the criteria.

2. Entering criteria for the journal list

To display a list of all journals in 2021, they specify the period from January 1 until December 31, 2021, for which they want to print a list of journals.

If they want a specific printout of journals, they enter that in the search string after the journal number or in the Search field.

3. Previewing the journal

After clicking on the number of the journal, the data that is in that journal is shown on the screen.

In this case, they choose journal 21-8020-70.

The Journal overview window opens.

They can review the journal by clicking on different visualisation options:

  • Payment method
  • Operator
  • Item
  • Tax
  • Account

In this case, they want to see all invoices that have been issued on the preview of the journal.

For this purpose, they choose the Invoice toggle button.

All invoice numbers, invoice amounts and the total journal amount are displayed on the screen.

4. Printing the chosen journal

By clicking on the Print button, the journal can be:

  • printed through the connected printer or
  • turned into a PDF file.

A window with a preview of the cash register journal printout opens (as shown in the picture below).
