List of subjects

The List of subjects allows you to quickly view all the subjects you have entered, filter the display of subjects according to different criteria and view the details of each subject.

HINT

For more information on these features, see the chapter List of subjects.

This chapter shows an example of how to filter, search and view subjects in the list of subjects and how to view the details of the subject INTERSPORT Ltd.

CASE SUMMARY

The person responsible opens the Subjects register and uses filters and sorting to find the subject INTERSPORT Ltd. Once it is found, the subject details are viewed. This is done as follows:

  1. Opening the list of subjects
  2. Filtering in the list header
  3. Viewing and sorting data
  4. Viewing subject details

1. Opening the list of subjects

The person responsible opens the List of subjects by clicking Registers in the main menu and selecting a submodule, i.e. the tab Subjects. By default, all active subjects are displayed and sorted by Code in ascending alphabetical order.

2. Filtering in the list header

The person responsible wants to search for the subject INTERSPORT Ltd, which is Tecta's customer. In the field Subject type in the header of the list, the person responsible selects Customers from the drop-down list. Only subjects that have the specified subject type Customers are displayed in the list.

The field Status is set to Active only by default, so this field can be left unchanged.

In the field Search, the person responsible enters the search string 'INTER'. After a few moments, the list is automatically refreshed and all results matching the search string are displayed. The displayed results either start or contain or end with the entered search string.

WARNING

When searching for the entered string, the program searches by code, name, address and tax number of the subject.

3. Viewing and sorting data

By clicking the three dots icon (Show/hide columns) at the top of the list, the person responsible can select between the columns containing the data of the subjects shown in the list. All the marked columns are displayed.

In the columns Code, Name, Address and Tax no., data can be sorted in ascending and descending order or a filter condition can be specified.

To view the subjects in descending order, the person responsible clicks the arrow down icon   and selects the Z–A icon from the list. Subjects are displayed in descending order.

4. Viewing subject details

To view detailed information about the subject INTERSPORT Ltd., the person responsible clicks the code in the INTERSPORT Ltd. subject row. Each subject code is colored blue.

This opens the window Subject general data. In this window, the person responsible can view and edit the general data about the subject and its contact information and subject types, and add a note.

By selecting the left arrow and right arrow icons , the person responsible can navigate through the Subjects register alphabetically by code at the level of the window Subject general data.
