Restoring backup data from cloud

Backups stored in the cloud on a Telekom server can be easily restored.

This chapter shows how to restore a backup that has been created in the use case Creating data backup in cloud.

CASE SUMMARY
The person responsible wants to restore the database data from the last backup from the cloud. This is done as follows:
- Opening the Backup form
- Selecting the backup to be restored
- Selecting the path for saving the backup

1. Opening the Backup form
To open the Backup form in PANTHEON, person responsible selects Settings | Program | Administration Panel from the main menu.
On the left side of the window, the person responsible selects the Database panel and then the Backup subpanel.
This opens the form for creating or restoring a backup.

2. Selecting the backup to be restored
The person responsible enables the To Cloud radio button in the Backup path section.
Existing cloud backups are displayed.
In the Password field, the person responsible enters the password used to protect the access to the backup.
Next, the person responsible right-clicks the latest record and selects Restore Data.

3. Selecting the path for saving the backup
This opens the Restore Database window.
In the New DB name field, the person responsible enters EU_TECTA_Restore.
In the fields Databaseand Transaction Log. the person responsible selects a location for store the above mentioned files.

WARNING
When entering the location, make sure that the correct extensions are entered for the database (.mdf) and transaction log (.ldf) files.

Clicking the Restore button completes the process.
PANTHEON displays a notification when the database is successfully restored. The database is now uploaded to the local server and can be accessed using the login window.
