Entry of small livestock

Small livestock (sheep and goats) are classified as farm animals for breeding and use. Most often, a veterinarian visits the animal owner on-site or at the animal's location. During the initial examination, the veterinarian first enters the animal into the program, where a unique code for the animal is created.
In this chapter, we will present an example of creating a new code for sheep and goats. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Codebooks | Owner and animal codebook, tab Small livestock.
 |
CASE DESCRIPTION
The veterinarian performs regular vaccination of small livestock on-site. At the location of farmer Roman Bovša's farm, the veterinarian will first list the sheep and then carry out the vaccination. The process of creating a new animal code will be carried out with the following steps:
- Searching for the owner's code
- Entering data in the Basic Data tab
- Entering data in the Small Livestock tab
- Printing data about the animal
|
1. Searching for the owner's code
The responsible person on-site first checks or searches for the owner's code, where a new animal code can then be created. A detailed procedure for searching for the owner is described in the chapter Searching for an owner or animal in the codebook.
 |
WARNING
If the owner is not yet entered into the PANTHEON VET program, the responsible person first enters the owner, then the animal. Detailed instructions can be found in the chapter Adding a new owner.
|
2. Entering data in the Basic Data tab
The responsible person on-site enters the animal into the PANTHEON VET program. A detailed procedure for entering basic animal data in the Basic Data tab is described in the chapter Animal entry (general).
 |
WARNING
Farm animals in Slovenia are tied to the location of their setting, i.e., KMG-MID (or GMID). For this purpose, an additional field GMID automatically appears on the animal's tabs for entering the required data.
- If the owner has only one GMID, which is entered in the Owner codebook, it is automatically filled into the GMID field in the Basic Data tab for the animal.
- If the owner has multiple GMID locations, in the Basic Data tab for the animal, in the GMID field, the appropriate one is selected from the dropdown list.

TIP
For more detailed information about the program's forms, read the chapter GMID.

3. Entering data in the Small Livestock tab
After entering the animal's basic data, based on the selected type of animal, the appropriate tab is created. In our case, the Small Livestock
 |
tab was created.
TIP Entering data in the Small Livestock tab is for informational purposes only, and the data is not mandatory. The input fields are described in the chapter
|
Sheep and goats.
4. Printing data about the animal If the responsible person wants to check or print the data about the small livestock for the owner, this is done in the manner described in detail in the chapter
Adding a dog.
