Basic data

For an animal, we can record several types of data.

In this chapter, we will present an example of entering basic data about an animal. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Codes | Owner and animal codes tab Basic data.

TIP

For more detailed information about the program forms, read in the PANTHEON VET Guide, in the chapter Basic data.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The veterinarian or receptionist, upon the first visit of the animal to the veterinary clinic, first enters the animal into the code list, where they record the basic data for the animal as described below.

  • The responsible person in the veterinary clinic enters the animal into the PANTHEON VET program by clicking the button + New, which is located in the function bar.

  • In the tab Basic data , the fields for entering new data are cleared, where the responsible person will enter the data about the new animal.

  • In the field Animal ID they enter in our case a 15-digit ID code (chip number) of the dog: 705123456998005.

WARNING

In the field Animal ID you can enter a different number of characters, but it is crucial that two animals cannot have the same ID record, which the program also warns you about.

  • In the field Animal Name the responsible person enters the name of the animal: Archie.

  • From the dropdown list in the field Gender selects: 1-Male

  • In the field Animal Type from the dropdown list selects in our case: Carnivores.

TIP

Animal type codes should be set up in the program beforehand, and then you simply select options from the dropdown list. Read more about the settings in the chapter Animal type codes.

  • The responsible person continues entering data in the field Animal Category, where from the dropdown list in our case selects: Dog.

  • In the field Breed selects from the dropdown list: Miniature Pinscher.

  • Also determines the status of the animal in the field Status: 1-Living.

  • Enters the date of birth of the animal in the field Date of Birth: 27.06.2022.

TIP
  1. There is a field Note, where you can enter any text, a note related to the animal.
  2. In case of special features of the animal, from the dropdown list in the field Special Feature select the appropriate description. You have several fields available for recording special features.

  • The responsible person completes the entry of the animal's basic data and clicks the button Save, which is located in the function bar.
