Pricing of Compound Items through Bill of Materials

Pricing of Compound Items in Specification

010381.gif010411.gif010382.gif010383.gif

A price of a compound item can be set in the following two ways:

  1. by entering fixed prices the same way as you would do to enter a non-compound item
  2. by setting variable prices in specification in order to customize specification by customers.

In the latter case set Spec for price in child items.

Let us say that the compound item consists of:

Parent =
  Child Spec Pieces = value
  A

€100

5

500

  B

€200

2

400

  C

€500

1

500

=

1,400

The calculated spec price amounts to 1,400 EUR and is used as the product's wholesale price. Based on the entered markup you can calculate sale price (let us say that you entered a 10% markup so that the sale price would amount to 1,540 EUR).

Should you change information in specification as can be observed below,

Parent =
  Child Spec Pieces = value
  A

€100

5

500

  B

€200

2

400

  C

€500

2

1000

=

1,900

the calculated price is 1,900 EUR.

Since sale price adn wholesale price have been entered, markup is calculated automatically.
