The First Character of #xx# Must be a Transaction Type or a Column Mark!

In addition to checking the general correctness of formula formatting, Formula testing in financial reports also checks whether we have entered an acceptable input in between the hashes (#) in the expression.

In balance lines, any expression that is not followed by the following character combinations after the hash is incorrect:

In first place Follows

D– debit transactions on account during a given period

K– credit transactions on account during a given period

S– the balance on account in a given period in absolute value = |D – K|

P – Credit & Debit (credit balance in a given period) = K - D

O – Debit – Credit (debit balance in a given period) = D – K

any set of characters to identify the account, e.g:

11%

A – value in line under column A (Formula 1)

B – value in line under column B (Formula 2)

any position number, e.g.:

10

EmpNo – average number of employees in a given year.

(no record)

If one of the four characters from the first column is not used in initial formula position, the following error is returned when running the test.

Expressions that fail the Check pairs are also written out, and formula testing puts us on the problematic input so that it is easier to correct it.

When we click the OK button, the program places the cursor at the point in the formula where the error occurred.

The following solution is available. In the first place, enter the correct expression after the hash.

Correct Incorrect
#A31# #C31#
#D11%# #E11%#
#StDel# #StDel3#
