Set the same type of specification for source and destination in the Copy Specification window.

 

To copy, follow the steps below:

  • A check is run before actually starting to copy. You cannot leave Item and Alternate fields empty. The messages described in the previous topic are displayed in case of errors occurring.
  • This is followed by checking item types set in Component Item Type box. Lines containing items that do not belong to any of the types will not be copied.
  • If you checked the Copy Sublevels checkbox, it will be applied for lines with set item types P,C or U. This onyl holds good in case the source and destination ID are the same. That is, when copying specification alternates.
  • Having checked Tools means that tools from source specification will be copied to destination specification.
  • In addition, checking Small Tools means that small tools from source specification will be copied to destination specification.
  • Having checked Regulations means that regulations from source specification will be copied to destination specification.
  • Copying lines to destination specification depends on the mode you selected.
    • Overwrite Spec

    Use this method to overwrite specification alternate.

    • Append at End of Spec

    If selected, lines of source specification will be appended at the end of destination specification.

    • Add Missing Spec Lines

    Here it is first checked whether a record with the same alternate and line number exists in destination specification. If no such record exists, it is entered. Otherwise not.
