Copying Plan Specification to Commercial Specification

Copying Plan Specification to Commercial Specification

010383.gif

Set Plan Spec for source and Commercial Spec for destination specification in the Copy Specification window.

To copy, follow the steps below:

  • A check is run before actually starting to copy. It is obligatory that you enter a plan ID, line number and alternate for source specification. On the other hand, set an item for destination specification. Because commercial specification does not support alternates, you can only set it in the source specification. The messages described in the previous topic are displayed in case of errors occurring.
  • This is followed by checking of item types set in the Component Item Type box. Lines containing items that do not belong to any of the types will not be copied.
  • Checking Take into Account Set-Up Time affects calculation of volume in operations. If checked, time required for operation is calculated so that set-up time is added to prouction time and divided by quantity in line of plan.
  • Before actually starting to copy, it checks for quantity (batch) of item in destination specification. If it is zero (0), value one (1) is used for recalculated quantity requirements. Because volume cannot be set in commercial specification, maximum amount of volume is determined for source specification. If it is greater than the item quantity (batch) in destination specification, then maximum volume will be used in calculation. In addition, it is also recorded in the Items register. Other lines of commercial specification are recalculated accordingly.
  • Waste shrinkage is calculated according to the percentage of waste. Commercial specification does not include scrap.
  • Copying lines to destination specification depends on the mode you selected.
    • Overwrite Spec

Use this mode to overwrite a specification.

    • Append at End of Spec

If selected, lines of source specification will be appended at the end of destination specification.

    • Add Missing Spec Lines

First it is checked whether a record with the same line number exists in destination specification. If no such record exists, it is entered. Otherwise not.
