It enables free adding of lines from a certain existing journal entry to the currently selected one. Each added line is assigned a new line number.

 

Example:

 

You have the following amounts posted on the journal entry 07-470-000024 that you want to copy to the new journal entry with a negative sign in front of them:

Click 024671.jpg to open a new record. Then click Add. Enter ID to copy journal entry and check the Change Sign checkbox:

Click Copy to create lines:
