General information that can be found in lines can also be view in the panel of the same name. Here you can find standard data on quantities required in assembly. The fields displayed in the window can be set in program settings under Active Fields. Below you can observe all possible fields get displayed. However, you can set in Active Fields that only the Quantity is displayed hiding Net/1 and Gross/1.

Specifying Fields:

Quantity Enter volume in line of specification in assembly. The quantity is expressed in the default primary unit of measurement used with the item and the set volume for "Batch" (Normally, it is set to "1" for batch assembly). Usually, it is the net volume required in assembly. Having checked Scrap and Waste Included in Quantity in program parameters of specification you can also enter gross volume.
Volume Enter or select number of units ranging from 1 to 1,000,000 units for which volume was set. That is, if you select 1,000 units, the volume is expressed for production of 1000 units.
Batch Enter number of units of specification that represents a production batch (number of units of measurement, charge, minimum required production amount - actual production amount must be its multiple). The required production amount is given for batch (number) of units of measurement.
Formula Enter or select a formula in order to calculate quantity of material required to produce a certain amount of product.
U/M Enter or select a unit of measurement used with item. The lookup table includes units of measurement as defined in Items register: That is, primary U/M which is the main unit, secondary U/M that can be set by the collective U/M and customs U/M which is tertiary.
When changing unit of measurement for item in specification the quantity of volume, scrap and waste is changed automatically.
Scrap Enter a quantity of scrap (in Scrap Qty) or a calculated approximate in case of expressing scrap in %) for batch in primary U/M used with item. Either enter it here or in field below where you can enter scrap in %. It affects the calculation of gross/net volume. As set by standard scrap is part of material which cannot be reused to any further effect due to its own characteristics as well as the character of manufacturing process. It represents a material left-over in manufacturing process and can be as such tracked - that is, removed or warehoused under its own ID.
Scrap % Like above enter (or calculate) percentage of scrap (in Scrap %) from the whole volume.
Scrap Enter or select a scrap ID when scrap is returned to warehouse as a residue of manufacturing process and is then removed or used to some other effect. Normally you will not find here any items.
Waste Qty Enter a quantity of waste (in Waste Qty) or a calculated approximate in case of expressing waste in %) for batch in primary U/M used with item. Either enter it here or in field below where you can enter waste in %. It directly affects the calculation of gross/net volume. As distinct from scrap, waste does not occur as material residue during manufacturing process. Or better it is not recorded as such.
Waste % Like above enter (or calculate) percentage of waste (in Waste %) from the whole volume.
Net/1 Displays net volume in order to assemble batch quantities.
Gross/1 Displays gross volume in order to assemble batch quantities.
(quantity) Displays net volume in order to assemble batch quantities. The image above does not show quantity field. It appears instead of Net/1 and Gross/1 fields if you set it in program settings under Active Fields - that is, you selected Quantity and removed Gross/1 and Net/1 fields. It is wise to use this setting in case you checked Scrap and Waste Included in Quantity in specification's program settings under default values. In such a case enter volume as gross quantity and the field displays recalculated net volume.
