Multi-storage scheme

Extending the scheme with more repositories
Typically, companies have several warehouses or units where they keep records. In such cases, planners need to extend the material and goods flow diagram by adding other warehouses and equipping them with the corresponding material document types.
In this section we present an example of a company scheme with two warehouses: a wholesale warehouse and a retail warehouse.

Explanation of the scheme:
- The company has two warehouses: one for Wholesale (Warehouse 1 and one for Retail (Warehouse 2).
- Receipt at Warehouse 1 (wholesale warehouse debit) was identified by the document type 1000, which in this scheme means 'purchase of goods and materials'.
- The Warehouse 1 outflow has been marked with the document type 3000, which represents 'Wholesale' or the unloading of the wholesale warehouse.
- Warehouse 2 receipts (retail warehouse debit) are identified by the document type 1100, which in this scheme stands for 'purchase of goods and materials'.
- The Warehouse 2 output has been marked with the document type 3000, which represents 'Retail or the offloading of a retail warehouse.
The diagram above shows how and with what type of document the purchase of goods and materials is carried out. The process goes from the suppliers to the retail or wholesale warehouse of the company and from there to the customers.
