Full version

The full version of PANTHEON has no limit on the number of documents. The full version is available with the purchase of licenses for the Datalab PANTHEON software suite.

WARNING

To activate the full version, you first need to install the software suite and then change the serial number and user name in the menu Administration Panel | Versions/Upgrades | Installation.

Depending on the company type, there are several types of configurations for the serial number and the authorized user.

In order to properly license and use the PANTHEON software suite according to the license agreement, you need to be familiar with the license types and install them properly (usually handled by your support consultant):

  1. Company with one location
  2. Company with multiple locations
  3. Multiple companies on the same server

1. Company with one location

The simplest type of licensing applies to a company with one location.

All computers are connected to the same database via a local area network. In this case, all you need for the company is the serial number and the corresponding location name.

The correct license activation form for this type of company is as follows:

PANTHEON license holder: COMPANY LTD.

Location

Location name
(name of registered user)

Serial number

License

Quantity

Location 1:

COMPANY LTD.

999910

PANTHEON SE

3

Total licenses:

3

WARNING

The location name corresponds to the text for the registered user, which PANTHEON will print in the margin of each report.

2. Company with multiple locations

Companies with multiple locations (e.g. headquarters and two business units, BUs) that have no permanent connection between them and no central database (such a case would be treated as a company with one location) need a database server at each respective location.

In this case, the company needs as many serial numbers as it has locations. At each location, you need to specify the exact highest number of licenses that will be in use at that location.

WARNING

The upgrade contract applies to the entire company and covers all locations.

The correct license activation form for this type of company is as follows:

PANTHEON license holder: COMPANY LTD.

Location

Location name
(name of registered user)

COMPANY LTD. – headquarters

WARNING

For instructions on how to change the serial number at a specific location, see the chapter Changing serial numbers.

3. Multiple companies on the same server

There are also cases where multiple companies share the same location or even the same server.

Typical examples of such companies are subsidiaries or holding companies. In such a case, you can choose between two types of licensing:

  • Unlimited users
  • Limited users

3.1 Unlimited users

If you want to set up an environment where users can move between databases (i.e. X users will always have access, no matter how they are distributed across companies), then you need to enter the same serial number in all databases.

The server will allow as many concurrent users as there are licenses.

As a result, Company 1 (DB 1) can take all 8 licenses (if it needs them), however, no other company can then use the program in such a case.

Such use requires a license type that allows use of more than 3 databases.

The correct license activation form for this type of company is as follows:

PANTHEON license holder: ACCOUNTING FIRM LTD.

Location

Location name
(name of registered user)

Serial number

Location 1:

COMPANY LTD.

999910

PANTHEON ME

DB 4
DB 5

8

WARNING
  • If such a company has subsidiaries in different countries, it needs different localizations of PANTHEON licenses. In such a case, a separate serial number is required for each localization.
  • One such example is also an accounting firm that has a large number of databases in one location, but does not share the PANTHEON licenses with its customers; instead, it uses them exclusively for its own employees.

3.2 Limited users

The number of users can be limited to an individual company or group of companies. Here is an example:

  • Company 1 uses a maximum of 3 licenses,
  • Company 2 uses 1 license,
  • Company 3 shares 4 licenses.

Because each company is its own legal entity, it needs several databases on the same server, one for each company.

In addition to the production database, Company 3 has a test copy of the database. In this case, Company 3 needs as many serial numbers as there are groups of companies sharing licenses at a particular location.

You need to specify exactly the number of licenses that each company needs.

The main difference with this licensing type is that only as many users can use PANTHEON at any time as the total sum of the licenses purchased for each serial number.

WARNING

The license holder is linked to a single legal entity. Likewise, the upgrade contract is concluded for all the above licenses together.

The correct license activation form for this type of company is as follows:

PANTHEON license holder: COMPANY LTD.

Location

Location name
(name of registered user)

Serial number

License

Quantity

Database

Location 1:

COMPANY 1 LTD.

999910

Location 2:

COMPANY 2 LTD.

999111

PANTHEON ME

DB 2

Location 3:

COMPANY 3 LTD.

999112

PANTHEON ME

4

DB 3

DB 3 TEST

Total licenses:

8

WARNING

In case you want to separate the license holder and thus the license activation form into companies 1, 2 and 3, you need to buy licenses for separate legal entities. In such a case, the upgrade contract is concluded separately for each license holder.
