Scan/Import documents

The Scan/Import documents form opens when using the Scan and import documents workflow. Once the workflow is finished, the scanned/imported documents are created as DMS documents.

WARNING
For successful scanning or importing, the resolution must be equal to or greater than 300 dpi.

This section of the form shows the settings for scanning or importing files, which files will be imported and what will happen to them after import.
(Import document)
|
Opens a window where you can search for the document on your local disk and import it. It is used for adding documents manually.

(Scan document)
|
Opens the scanner's options for scanning.
|
(Select folder to save files after import)
|
Opens a window to search for the folder on your local disk where you want to save the document.
|
(Settings)
|
If enabled, the printer settings are opened before scanning.

Scanner
|
List of all installed scanners. From the drop-down list, you can select the the desired scanner.
|
DPI (dots per inch)
|
Define the resolution of the scanned image.
If it is greater than 590 or smaller than 200, it will be automatically reset to 300 dpi.

Format
|
The field is automatically populated with one of the options .PNG .JPG or .PDF format.

Grayscale
|
If checked, the scanned documents are saved as black and white documents, even if the image is in color.
|
Subject
|
From the drop-down list of the Subjects register, select the subject to be displayed in Documentation for the scanned document.

Classification
|
From the drop-down list of the Classification Scheme, select the classification for the scanned document.

Split to Documents |
If enabled, for all added files to Scan form, separated documents are created in DMS form. A document for each file is created. |

WARNING
When adding files from disk, file names must not contain special characters (/\#,).

Files can be added to the Scan/Import documents form using the drag and drop method.
On the right side of the form, the scanned or imported documents are displayed in the form of a document preview.

The Preview tab on the left shows a preview of all document pages that have been imported into the form.

The Metadata tab shows all fields from the selected classification. The Metadata fields can be edited in the respective classification in the Classification Scheme. The metadata entered is also transferred to the DMS form under the Metadata tab when the document is confirmed.
