Adding a Scheduled Task in Windows NT

Adding a Scheduled Task in Windows NT

Adding a Scheduled Task in Windows NT

In Windows NT, first you have to check whether the Schedule service is running.

In the Control Panel, double click Services. Find the Schedule service and see its status.

The above example shows that the Schedule service is not running (which is the default for most Windows installations). The service should be set to start at system startup. With the Schedule service selected, click the Startup button.

Under Startup Type, select Automatic and click OK. The service will start automatically at the next system startup, but now it has to started manually. Click the Start button to do so.

The service is set up properly when its status is Started and Startup is Automatic.

If using a dial-up connection, the Schedule service should be set to log on as an administrator account, not the System account , otherwise OTOS will not be able to establish a connection.

In the DOS Prompt type in the following:

AT "cas" /INTERACTIVE /EVERY:M,T,W,Th,F,S "path to OTOS" "profile"

Where:
M - Monday
T - Tuesday
W - Wednesday
Th - Thursday
F - Monday
S - Saturday
Su - Sunday

To synchronize data with branch office 1 every day except Sunday at 22:00, with branch office 2 everyday except Sunday at 23:00, and with branch office 3 every Wednesday and Friday at 0:30, type:

AT 22:00 /INTERACTIVE /EVERY:M,T,W,Th,F,S c:\Datalab\Otos\Otos.exe 001
AT 23:00 /INTERACTIVE /EVERY:M,T,W,Th,F,S c:\Datalab\Otos\Otos.exe 002
AT 00:30 /INTERACTIVE /EVERY:W,F c:\Datalab\Otos\Otos.exe 003

To see the scheduled tasks, type AT without any parameters.
