Copying OTOS Settings

If you are using OTOS with several profiles, it can be quite a piece of work to set up the same profiles on all involved computers. The profiles, like all other OTOS settings, are stored in the registry. This will explain how you can export OTOS settings from one computer and import it at another.

Run the Registry Editor by typing regedit.exe into the Run dialog (Start | Run) and pressing Enter.

Find the key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DataLab\OTOS

003797.gif

In the Registry menu, select the option Export Registry File.

Type in a name for the file and select a location.

Copy this file to the other computer and repeat the above procedure, but select Import Registry File instead of Export Registry File.

059806.gif Keep in mind that the copied settings are a perfect copy of the original. You have to change at least the master/slave mode and the document types to be transferred.
059807.gif If you need to set up profiles in several locations, it is recommended to install OTOS setup on a computer in the main office, set up all profiles for branch offices and distribute them.
