000001.gif Only users with SysAdmin privileges on SQL server can add or delete users. For more information see SysAdmin Users.

1. Opening the Administration Panel

First open the Administration Panel from the main menu.

2. Adding New User Groups

If:

  • from the right-click menu of the tree view of the Administration Panel select the New User Group option, or
  • go to the name of individual group in the tree view structure of the Administration Panel, or
  • go to the Users option in the tree view structure of the Administration Panel

a panel appears where you can view and enter the user group ID or name.

30814.gif

To define the group it is mandatory to enter the name and an optional note.  In the taskbar of the entry window you can thus find the following functions:

026190.jpg Add New Group - with it a new blank entry window opens enabling you to enter a new user group (as can be observed from the image above)
023057.jpg Save - it saves all entered user group data.
023058.jpg Discard Changes- by using it you discard the entered user group data.
30815.gif Add New User - by using it a new user is added to the existing group.
Name

In this field you can enter the user group name. You have to enter such a name that does not yet exist. If you enter an already existing name, an error is returned (see User group with that name already exists!)
Note

A note to the user group.

Deleting User Group

The easiest way to delete the user group is to go to the tree view structure on the left side of Administration Panel and move to the group and press the 005054.gif key or by selecting the Delete User Group function from the right-click menu:

34610.gif

Before you actually delete the user group, you have to confirm this (see Do you really want to delete the user group?).

000001.gif You cannot delete the user group if it contains at least one user! In case you attempt to do this an error is returned (see User group contains users! You cannot delete it!).

Before you actually delete the group, you have to move all the existing users to some other group (see Moving Users between Groups).
