Items with Serial Numbers in Drop-Down Search in Multisearch Field
This chapter describes the functionality for setting selected fields to be seen in the drop-down menu on POS issue documents.

HINT
A serial number (SN) is a number assigned to each individual product in order to distinguish that product from others. The serial number is sometimes used only for warranty control and sometimes used for both warranty control and version control. They are usually assigned in sequence per product or product family. Manufacturing normally assigns the serial numbers to each product and adds the valid date.

Case summary
Calvin Clerk from retail would like to see the items with serial numbers on the drop-down search menu in the multisearch field. This is done as follows:
- POSX Settings
- Reviewing Displayed Fields
|
In order to see the serial numbers in the drop-down menu, the person responsible first needs to define adequate POSX Settings.
For that purpose, the person responsible first clicks the POS settings button.
The program opena the POS Settings panel, in which the person responsible selects the panel Appearance | Item finder, then selects the field or fields to be seen in the drop-down menu, and sets how wide the columns should be.

The process is finished by clicking the Save button.
 |
WARNING
The Serial No. field is only visible if the settings described abovev are made first.
|
After saving the changes, the person responsible re-opens the issued POS document and clicks the drop-down menu in the Item field.

Here, the person responsible already sees that the changes made have been replicated and continues to fill out the document.
 |
Hint
If the Serial No. option is active, a new option is displayed: Hide cumulative Serial numbers record. The option is only valid for items with set Serial numbers. If the switch is OFF, in drop-down menu of items, the cumulative row will be shown on top, then the available Serial numbers. If the switch is ON, the cumulative row is not shown in the drop-down menu.
