Creating Work Orders from Schedule

Create WO from Schedule is the last level of planning and the start of the process of manufacturing products and semi-finished products. The option to create a WO from the Schedule enables you a quick transfer of data defined in the process of planning to Work Orders.

The following case presents the process of creating and reviewing work orders from scheduling in PANTHEON.

CASE SUMMARY

After finishing planning, Marc Manufacture wants to transfer selected lines to Work Orders and thus start the process of manufacturing ordered products. Marc selects all lines from the plan, define the Document Type 6000 – Manufacturing and created Work Orders. After creating, Marc uses the review tool to check the status of created Work Orders. This is done as follows:

  1. Opening the Schedule
  2. Opening the Create WO from Schedule Window
  3. Selecting Lines to Transfer with Criteria
  4. Creating WO from Schedule
  5. Overviewing Work Orders

1. Opening the Schedule

To open the Schedule, the person responsible first selects Manufacturing | Plans and the document type HP10 – Monthly Plan – Orders and thus opens a form with monthly manufacturing plans. Clicking the Search By button in the toolbar opens the search engine. The person responsible selects the plan 22-HP10-000002 Plan June 2022 created in the case Creating a Plan.

To open the Schedule from the selected monthly plan, the person responsible clicks the (Wizard) button and selects Scheduling from the drop-down menu.

The already created Schedule HP10-000002 opens.

2. Opening the Create WO from Schedule Window

To open the Create WO from Schedule window, the person responsible clicks the (Wizard) button and selects Create WO from the drop-down list.

When the window opens, product and semi-finished product lines are automatically transferred from the Schedule to the lower section: Create WO from Schedule.

3. Selecting Lines to Transfer with Criteria

Lines transferred to the Create WO from Schedule window can be additionally filtered before creating the plan by selecting criteria on the form.

In the Criteria section, the person responsible selects the Create WO for Non-Created Only checkbox and therefore ensure the WO is only created for lines that are not yet included in Work Orders.

The person responsible does not select other criteria to cerate a WO for all lines from the Plan.

In the Parameters section, the person responsible selects the Document Type 6000 – Manufacturing and so defines the document type of the Work Orders being created.

WO Date is by default the date of creating and can be changed as desired.

The person responsible checks the checkboxes Copy Tools, Copy Regulations, Copy Hand Tools and Prod. Waste/Scrap and so transfers these data to Work Orders.

In the Item Type section, the person responsible selects the type of item lines to be copied to Work Orders. By selecting all types, the person responsible makes sure all lines from the plan are copied.

When all criteria is selected, the person responsible clicks the Refresh button and refreshes the selection according to the selected criteria.

4. Creating WO from Schedule

By checking the checkboxes next to all lines, the person responsible defines the lines to copy to the WO. When the selection is done, the person responsible clicks the Create button and confirms the selection in the Confirm window to create the Work Orders.

A Create WO from FMP window opens displaying data about the created Work Orders.

5. Overviewing Work Orders

The person responsible can monitor the Work Orders created from the Schedule by clicking the Wizard button and selecting WO Overview.

A Schedule: 22-HP10-000002 – WO Overview window opens, where data about Work Orders generated from FMP lines are visible.

In this window, the user can track the status or quantity of produced lines. Clicking the Refresh button refreshes data displayed in the window.

Warning

Work Orders created from the Schedule have the status Planned when created. When the Schedule is recalculated, the linked WOs that do not have status Released or higher, are automatically deleted.
