Manage stock of sire semen

Manage stock of sire semen

New functionality of sire semen stock management enables you to track stock of sire semen. We developed a solution that creates internal document for each selected sire semen on reproduction of individual animal.

Stock management settings

To select if you want to track stock of sire semen or not, you have to select checkbox in Administration panel. Sire semen default item and default warehouse have to be set, but manage sire semen stock checkbox is optional.

Manage sire semen stock unchecked

If manage stock for sire semen checkbox is deselected (which is also a default setting) stock of all sire semen is tracked through default warehouse. As default warehouse is set to be able to track negative stock, sire semen can be used in all cases without any limitation. Wherever sire semen ID list is shown it will appear only as list of all active sires in bull register.

Same goes also for breeding planner where list of all active sires is shown.

When sire semen is used and document is created, default warehouse will be added to this document.

Manage sire semen checkbox checked

If you select this checkbox that menas that you will be tracking stock of sire semen. Default warehouse field in administration panel will disappear as it is not needed since sire semen will be tracked throuh other warehouses to which they were added. With this checkbox activated all sire semen list will show only sire semen on stock in all warehouses. To be able to use sire semen in reproduction you have to first add sire semen to stock. When using sire semen on reproduction you also have to be sure that you added enough stock of sire semen to warehouse.

Sire semen list will therfore change and show only sire semens that are active in bull register and have stock on warehouse(s). List will also show stock quantity on each warehouse.

Similar list will also appear in breeding planner.

When you are selecting sire for insemination from dropdown you have to check from which warehouse you are selecting sire semen as this warehouse will be added to warehouse and sire semen stock will be updated on selected document.
