Let us assume you bought a new fixed asset in the amount of €5,000. The acquisition date is April 3rd, 2007: the activation date falls on April 17th, 2007. The asset will be depreciated from May 1st. 2007.

he fixed asset will be written off in 5 years. This means you will use a 20% depreciation rate. Click 022175.jpg to open a new record in the Fixed Assets register and enter required data - for detailed treatment see topics Main window and Accounting.

Enter acqusition in the Value Adjustment panel. The date entered here is the fixed asset's activation date. If you change it in the Accounting panel, you have to do accordingly in the Value Adjustment panel.

 

Right-click and select Post Value Adjustment in order to post acquisition to accounts set under Posts - (Accounts).

Having selected Post Value Adjustment opens the window Posting of Fixed Assets. To display journal entry click Posting.
